Table top bar – Flatware

Flatware (more commonly referred to as cutlery), is one of those things we don’t usually think about. But no dinner party is complete without a selection of premium quality, luxury flatware that compliments the rest of the table perfectly. From patterned forged flatware crafted from high quality stainless steel, to contemporary designs that work well with more modern surroundings, our choice of flatware has something to suit everyone’s tastes.

What is forged flatware?

Forged flatware is made from premium grade stainless steel that’s been forged into individual items, ranging from forks and spoons through to serving tongs, large spoons and steak knives. It’s incredibly strong, doesn’t tarnish, and is dishwasher-safe. Choose from:

  • 18/10 – forged steel with a high nickel content for greater lustre and sheen
  • 18/8 – a slightly lower nickel content but with all the quality and shine of 18/10
  • 18/0 – polished stainless steel that maintains its shine for everyday use but with no added nickel
  • Go for stamped flatware

A more cost-effective choice for everyday use is stamped flatware, which is literally stamped out of a large sheet of stainless steel using heavy presses. This enables the manufacturer to include intricate patterns and designs into the steel, while keeping the cost down. It’s usually lighter than forged steel, but with the proper care lasts just as long.

The best flatware finishes

Depending on what the flatware is being used for, there are a number of different finishes to choose from. We have a stunning collection of luxury silverware in a range of silverware finishes including:

  • Satin – A brushed finished that’s also known as ‘matt’, and perfect for everyday dining
  • Mirror – This is silverware that’s been highly polished to what is known as a ‘mirror finish’ and brings a classic, elegant look to any dinner party.
  • Plated – To give our customers the widest choice of luxury flatware, we also carry a selection of plated finishes, including the on-trend rose gold, ultra-sophisticated black, or for a more rustic, traditional look, wood grain.
