Getting your kids to keep their rooms tidy can feel like an uphill struggle. Too often, toys seem to find their way onto the floor, waiting for unsuspecting adult feet to tread on them, usually when they’re bare and vulnerable! In addition, it tends to be the same adult who ends up picking up plastic building bricks, dolls, and action figures from the carpet and tidying them away – only to find them back on the floor the very next day. However, help is at hand in the form of strategic storage solutions. Read on to find out just how you can help your kids take control of their surroundings and become more organised in the process.

Toy boxes

Toy boxes are the best place to start when it comes to keeping clutter contained. However, what might help your campaign is to get your child involved in choosing the right toy box for their bedroom. Browse our collection, and you'll find sleek and stylish toy boxes that'll complement any surroundings. However, if there are toys that are firm favourites with your little ones, consider a toy organiser. Rather than housing toys in one space, toy organisers have separate compartments, so children easily access the ones they want without having to rake through piles of other toys, which usually results in another unwanted mess on the floor.

A basket case!

Baskets are ideal for younger children who might not be able to navigate the lids and hinges of a toy box. Available in a range of styles, colours, and prints, they’re the perfect home for cuddly toys and softer items. Alternatively, check out our collection of storage bins. Not only are these ideal for keeping a bedroom tidy, but you can also buy a few of them, which can then be stacked to maximise floor space.

Bookshelves

Shelving is the parent’s secret weapon in the battle for tidiness! Not only do shelves make use of space that would otherwise be redundant, but they can add to the visual appeal of your child’s room. On top of that, they don’t have to be used purely for books. Soft toys, action figures, and even small lamps can all take pride of place on a bookshelf. Our range of bookshelves and bookcases features everything from the cool and the contemporary to the more rustic and homely.
However, younger children might benefit from one of our hanging wall organisers. A series of open compartments, these can be made from a variety of materials, including wood, plastic, and fabric. Wall organisers are a superb way to keep toys off the floor yet displayed attractively.

Bin it!

While your children might not produce much in the way of litter, keeping a bin in their bedroom can help introduce the idea of throwing things away when they're no longer needed. In addition, with extra bins in the room, you can also introduce them to the concept of recycling. However, bins don't have to be purely practical – they can be fun too. Check out our range, and you'll find them available in a range of shapes and sizes, with something for children of all tastes.
