The simple, classic shape of our Caspian serving bowl puts the focus on its beautiful reactive grey glaze. Undergoing chemical changes during firing, the glaze produces one-of-a-kind patterns and luminous, variable warm grey colors with taupe undertones. Transitioning from light to dark grey as it cascades down the bowl's interior, the glaze is peppered throughout with unique markings and crackles. This intentional and desirable crazing occurs during firing, and the craquelure can develop more complexity over the years whenever the raw natural materials expand and contract. The glaze and its effects are food-safe but may temporarily discolor with certain foods.
