Manufactured by the Steele Canvas Basket Co. exclusively for Crate & Barrel, the sturdy steel frame is wrapped in 100% cotton natural canvas with a thermal plastic rubber edge. Designed with the authentic look and feel of a professional launderer's bin, it glides with ease on rubber casters and holds five bushels of clothes. A wooden lid (sold separately or as part of a set with a bin) keeps the contents out of sight and allows the hamper to double as a side table or work surface for folding laundry. Imprinted with the mark of heritage, the Steele logo is hand-applied on the hamper using the original brass stencil from 1921 when the company began producing commercial-grade canvas products. Because each double laundry bin is cut, bent and welded by hand, there will be a slight variance in size.
