The simple, classic shapes of our Caspian cereal bowl put the focus on its beautiful reactive glaze. Undergoing chemical changes during firing, the glaze produces one-of-a-kind patterns and luminous, variable aqua tones. As it cascades down, the glaze transitions from light to dark, peppered throughout with unique markings and crackles. This intentional and desirable crazing occurs during firing, and the craquelure can develop more complexity over the years whenever the raw natural materials expand and contract. The glaze and its effects are food-safe but may temporarily discolor with certain foods.
